Last time, I left you with this picture of a large road intersection and the small barn... Something looked off... As if having two barns in the same scene didn't make any sense, particularly given their alignment isn't the same at all, which is generally unusual in Quebec where farm plots are all parallel.
After trying several scenarios, we have concluded three gabled working class houses would be the best idea. They are typical of Clermont and are mundane just as they should to fit an industrial setting. Some garages will also be added.
Since the scene can be seen from both sides of the peninsula, it has to look good from the front and from the back.
Seeing cottage's backyard from Wieland is highly attractive and realistic. Seeing the houses through the trees gives you a few hints the town of Clermont is near. This indirect view makes for a scene that looks deeper and there is no need to resort to optical illusions to try to hide anything.
When work will be done on the CN 65ft gondola, I hope to build a few houses. It will be a fun project!
